SCEBF2 adenovirus

The SCEBF2 (sterol regulatory element binding transcription factor 2) gene encodes a key transcription factor involved in lipid metabolism and homeostasis. As a member of the sterol regulatory element binding protein (SREBP) family, SCEBF2 primarily regulates the expression of genes involved in cholesterol and fatty acid biosynthesis. It is synthesized as an inactive precursor, bound to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane, and its active form is released by proteolysis and translocated to the nucleus.
